KMP springs

KMP springs are springs in which the force centre (KMP) and direction of force application have been optimized. The force centre is located in the centre or off-centre, depending on whether transverse forces are to be generated or prevented in the spring. KMP springs are usually defined as being springs in which the force centre is off-centre on at least one side.

Advantages:

  • Compensation of transverse forces occurring in McPherson spring struts

  • Relieve the transverse forces of the spring strut piston rod

  • Improved ride comfort

  • Minimization of friction
